ABOUT THE ARTIST
I've been an artist as long as I can remember! My first recollection of creating art is a water color of a robin in a tree that I painted in the third grade. My teacher, Mrs. Short, entered it in a contest and I won 3rd place. I was hooked!
In high school and college, I took numerous courses in drawing, painting and silversmithing. I won a couple contests for paintings and drawings and I've sold my jewelry in boutiques from Kansas to Montana since 1975.
In 2000, on a trip home to Kansas, I spent the afternoon in a glass artists studio learning about the wonders of glass fusing. I fell in love with this medium and it has been my passion ever since. As you can see, I still paint and make jewelry but my true passion is glass.
I am inspired by the nature in this amazing state of Montana. Never before have I found so much beauty in the rocks and the trees, the water and the wildlife. I try to incorporate different natural elements into all of my pieces, be it glass, jewelry or paint.
Frank Lloyd Wright once said "Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you." ..... words I live by.
